Emotion, yet peace.

Emotion, yet peace.

There are as many readings as there are Masters. All as different and alike as grains of sand. All as aligned with truth as they can be. If we are to follow The Way, we must first see that the unlimited possibilities at the start will lead to uncountable variations at the end. To accept this as a natural law is to follow the way without distractions.

Emotion, yet peace.

A Jedi must not allow emotion to cloud his judgement. This is true. But how is a Jedi to disavow his emotion entirely, when all that it means to be Good requires it? Duty. Justice. Wisdom. All of these come from a cultivation of the good side of our emotion. We cannot be dutiful if we don't have a natural emotional inclination towards Justice. We cannot seek Justice without a need to create a balance in the force. We cannot find Wisdom without first having a love for knowledge and learning.

A mastery of emotion, knowing when to allow it to be, to flex, and when to hold right, to withstand, this leads to peace. A tangible peace within and without.

One without mastery of emotion will cause as much chaos as order, never fully allowing the Light side of the Force to overtake. These people can be advised, they can be guided, but it is not in a Jedi's instruction to convert someone who is yet to see The Way.

One who has by decision, or unintentionally, cultivated the dark side of their emotion will be dutiful to their Master even if that duty leads to creating injustice. Overcome by emotion, the Justice they seek is typically a personal Justice and not that of the Force. Any wisdom gained through this path is usually hoarded and comes at a great price to either the individual or their allies.

Emotion, yet peace.

Cultivate the Light Side of Emotion. Even rage can be harnessed by the will of the Force given the right circumstances. Hate, as well, is a tool given by nature. Fear too has been necessary for survival. However, to be consumed by any emotion is to lose our true potential.
